| Aktan, a former ambassador, was undergoing medical treatment in a hospital in Ankara due to a heart condition.
Aktan was elected MP in the general elections in 2007. He served as the Turkish ambassador to Greece and Japan. Aktan was married with two children.
Aktan's death brings the number of vacant seats to four, with MHP represented by 69 MPs.
