During a ceremony held the southern province Adana, for four policemen killed in a recent terrorist attack, Turkish Minister of the Interior Beşir Atalay addressed security force members, governors and the commanders and ordered the Amanos Mountains be cleared of terrorists.
Speaking at a ceremony held in honor of the four terrorists killed in a terrorist attack in Dörtyol, Hatay on Monday, Minister of Interior Besir Atalay stated; “The governors from the surrounding districts are present, as are the regions commanders and security enforcers. Do whatever needs to be done, and clear the Amanos Mountains of harboring terrorists.” For security reasons, the ceremony, which was attended by a number of government officials and military members, was held in Adana.
Lieutenant General Nejat Bek also attended the ceremony, despite a warrant having recently been issued for his arrest in connection to the ‘Balyoz (Sledgehammer) Operation’.
Meanwhile, also in attendance was CHP’s Adana Province Administrative Board member Abeydullah Kolcu, who relayed the following outburst in response to Atalay’s order to clear the Amanos, ; “How are you going to do this, by throwing commanders in jail?” Despite police taking Kolcu away and later apprehending him, Beşir Atalay continued his address, by stating the following; “Those that are agitators and provocateurs use this opportunity well. Some want animosity to develop between those living altogether in the same cities. However, we will not allow for this. This only works to serve terrorism! Step by step, we are tracking those that provoke our citizens. No one will find our squares to be empty. I invite our politicians to speak more responsibly in light of the public vote. These are sensitive issues. We will be a single body and we already are.”
The deceased were later tearfully ushered off to their hometowns where they will be buried.
